Draymond Green to LeBron James: ‘You started the super team, bro’

Jalen Collins Mens Jersey
Draymond Green and LeBron James are far from done with their smack talk.

After exchanging barbs via social media earlier in the day, Green delivered quite a shot while speaking to a crowd outside Oracle Arena Thursday following the Warriors’ championship parade.

Super team this, Super team that. ‘I never played on a Superteam,’ Green said, referencing what James said Monday night after the Warriors won the NBA championship. You started the Superteam, bro!

It turns out James had an answer for that comment, too. On the latest episode of the Road Trippin’ podcast with Richard Jefferson and Channing Frye, James made it clear super teams started long before he entered the league.

I mean, in 2003, the Lakers combined Karl Malone, Gary Payton, Shaq (O’Neal) and Kobe (Bryant), James said. In ’96, when (Michael) Jordan was retired, the Rockets joined Charles Barkley, Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler 鈥?all on the same team.

But I don’t look at it as 鈥?I definitely didn’t start the super team, if that’s what he’s trying to say. But I just feel like that it’s great that on the day that you’re celebrating your championship, my likeness and my name is in your head. I love that.

Packers: Clinton-Dix is a stable force in the secondary, while second-round WR Davante Adams developed into a solid receiver, and third-round TE Richard Rodgers came up with some big plays over the years. Meanwhile, fifth-rounder Corey Linsley has been a decent starter at center, giving Green Bay a hidden gem in the later rounds. With quality talent and no obvious busts, this draft is a big win for Ted Thompson and Co.

Giants: If you get Odell Beckham Jr., you’re a winner no matter who else you draft. It helps that New York got a starting center, Weston Richburg, in the second round.

The Colts interviewed six people before settling on Ballard.

We will set high standards throughout the organization and make sure winning becomes our edge, said Ballard, who was hired Sunday. This has to happen at every level. We have to make sure we have an organization of team-oriented problem solvers to get this done.

Ballard said former Colts players will always be welcome to visit the team facility and that he is honored to represent the Horseshoe.

Ballard replaces Ryan Grigson, who was fired last week after five seasons. The Colts interviewed six people before settling on Ballard. Prior to joining the Chiefs in 2013, Ballard spent 12 years in the Bears scouting department. He helped build the roster for the Bears team that went to the Super Bowl in 2006.

The Cavaliers’ recent struggles add a little intrigue to their game against the Thunder Sunday, not that a matchup featuring Russell Westbrook against LeBron James needed any. Look for ratings to surpass last year’s moderately low bar of 1.9 for Bulls-Clippers. Prediction: 2.2.

Tiger Woods is back playing PGA Tour-level golf, though CBS is probably not counting on him to make the cut. Luckily, the network does not quite need the Tiger effect this week last year’s rain-soaked Sunday coverage set a low enough bar (1.5) that this week’s action should do better by default. Prediction: 1.9.

The last time the NHL All-Star Game aired on a broadcast network, it had a 1.8 rating on ABC in 2004. This year’s game is unlikely to do as well in it’s return to free TV, but it goes without saying the numbers will easily top last year’s 0.9 on NBCSN. Prediction: 1.2.

NBA playoffs 2017: LeBron James called for four fouls in first half of Celtics-Cavaliers Game 4

Julien Davenport Kids Jersey
CLEVELAND — LeBron James picked up four fouls in the first half of Game 4 in the NBA’s Eastern Conference finals vs. the Celtics on Tuesday, including two close calls in the second quarter.

James, who scored 10 points in the half, was called for three fouls in the second quarter alone.

The first was an offensive foul in the lane with 11:26 left in the half. The next, a touch foul on a 3-point attempt by Marcus Smart, came with 8:55 remaining. James stayed in the game, and Boston’s Terry Rozier drew a charge from him at the 6:46 mark.

This was the first time in James’ career he had been called for four fouls in a first half.

Last season, the seven teams from picks No. 2 through No. 8 finished with records within six games of each other. That’s not exactly a big difference. Given the Lakers’ wealth of young talent that could take a step forward (as well as what could be an eventual pursuit of Paul George), the team could easily move into a higher tier of bad team just with internal improvement and the decline of other teams. Then, 2019 is still far enough away that it’s tough to predict exactly where the Kings will be situated.

The team certainly doesn’t look like it’ll be a playoff team by then, but it could also get into a similarly higher tier of bad team and leave the Celtics with a return of something like the 2017 No. 3 pick and the 2019 No. 8 pick for Fultz. For me, a No. 8 pick two years out is not worth the difference between Fultz and, say, Josh Jackson on my board.

NBA Finals: Steve Kerr will travel to Cleveland, but might not coach

Early Wynn Limited Jersey Steve Kerr isn’t quite ready to return to the sideline on a fulltime basis, but the Warriors coach says he’s getting close.

Allen Robinson Limited Jersey Kerr is still dealing with complications from back surgery in 2015. Kerr missed 43 games during the 2015-16 season and has not been on the sideline since Game 2 of the first round of this year’s playoffs as the Warriors swept their way to the NBA Finals, which begin Thursday.

Associate head coach Mike Brown has led the Warriors, though Kerr has participated in team meetings. The 51-year-old admitted it is difficult to not be coaching during the games after helping put together the game plan.

So, you look at officiating, it’s one of the most, like, an exact science as you can come up with. Stuff just happens on the fly, you’re talking, no disrespect to those guys, but you’re talking about mostly 40- and 50-year-old guys trying to keep up with 18- to 30-year-olds. Like, that’s tough to do, Green told reporters. So I think they were great. They did the best they could. I don’t really look at it and say, ‘Oh, man, they were out to get us or they were cheating us,’ like the most aggressive teams get calls, and that’s just the way the game has always gone.

This was the Andrew Wiggins draft. The Cavs needed a big man who could stretch the floor, as James had in Miami with Chris Bosh. So they opted to deal off Wiggins for Love. They did get a title out of it last June, so who in Cleveland can complain? At No. 2, Milwaukee has had nothing but bad luck with Jabari Parker, who has suffered two major knee injuries since entering the NBA. The only saving grace is that Joel Embiid, taken by the Sixers with the next pick, hasn’t been able to stay on the court, either.

Seahawks’ line caved against Falcons, and could slam door on title hopes

The Seahawks have a $61-million quarterback, and theyre protecting him with a $7.25-an-hour line.

Shockingly, that math failed Seattle in it’s 36-20 beatdown by the Falcons in the Georgia Dome Saturday. it’s a miracle Russell Wilson and the Seahawks even made it to Atlanta for a second-round game with such a sieve of an offensive line.

It will end up being more than the SeahawksAchilles heel. Unless they fix it immediately, no matter what the cost, theyre going to see their window to multiple potential Super Bowls or at least much-deeper runs in the playoffs slam shut on them.

Yes, on their road to a dynasty, theyll get tripped up the way Wilson was by Rees Odhiambo, their rookie right guard playing in yet another emergency, on that momentum-shifting safety.

The big difference James Harrison, Bud Dupree and Ryan Shazier didn’t start at linebacker in that game, Neither did the ace rookie cleanup man behind them, strong safety Sean Davis. That quartet, along with their stalwart inside, Lawrence Timmons, helped stuff both the running of Jay Ajayi and the stat sheet Sunday.

If Bell flirts with another Steelers single-game playoff record, it would mean great things for the team. Heck, just an effective, 100-plus yards on the ground probably would flip the game in their favor. The Patriots haven’t allowed any back, including Bell, David Johnson and LeSean McCoy, to crack the century mark in any game this season.

Ben Roethlisberger’s road woes continued in the playoffs at Kansas City. It’s not in the Steelers’ best interest to turn Sunday night’s game into a shootout with Tom Brady, with Roethlsiberger trying to match him pass for pass.

Mike Shanahan won’t be joining son Kyle with 49ers

Kyle Shanahan spent four years working for his father Mike on the Redskins’ staff, but don’t expect the pair to team up in an official capacity with the 49ers.

The younger Shanahan told reporters at Super Bowl media night that there have been no discussions about his father having a role in San Francisco, where Kyle is expected to be named head coach early next week.

‘I always anticipate asking my dad for advice and stuff like that, just like anybody would in their profession if their dad had done the same thing and been successful at it,’ Shanahan said, via CSN Bay Area. ‘But as far as him working in the building and doing stuff like that, that’s definitely not been in the discussions. My dad’s basically retired.’

Authentic Womens Kurt Coleman Jersey How many people share that opinion is an open question heading toward next season, with Griffin’s status in Cleveland unclear at the moment. The Browns have been mentioned prominently in trade rumors involving Jimmy Garoppolo and hold the No. 1 pick in this spring’s NFL draft, so the opportunity to make a move for a new starting quarterback is there.

Where that would leave Griffin remains to be seen. A starting job anywhere else in the league certainly would seem a stretch, but he could hook on as a backup for a team that believes he still has enough of the magic that made him the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2012 to be worth a roll of the dice.

That team could very well be Cleveland, but Browns coach Hue Jackson wasn’t tipping his hand after Sunday’s season-ending loss to the Steelers.

I’ve seen him get better,Jackson told reporters. I see things to keep growing from. I’ll watch it more in detail. There were some good things today. There were things that he can improve on. Every week he went out there and got better. I still think there’s another level for him to play at. We’ll evaluate and see if it’s the right thing for us as we move on.

Julio Jones injury update: WR should be ‘ready to go’ vs. Packers

Fear not, Atlanta Falcons fans. Julio Jones fully expects to be playing on Sunday.

Authentic Youth Jarvis Landry Jersey The receiver missed another practice Thursday due to a toe injury, but said he will be prepared to face the Green Bay Packers in the NFC title game at the Georgia Dome.

‘It’s fine,’ Jones said Thursday. ‘I will be ready to go.’

The toe injury sidelined Jones in the middle of the Falcons’ 36-20 victory over the Seattle Seahawks last Sunday. He was in and out of the game several times before coach Dan Quinn decided it would be best to bench him.

Even with limited playing time, Jones stillcaught six passes for 67 yards with a touchdown against the Seahawks.

The Falcons will want Jones ready to go on Sunday. If they defeat the Packers, Atlanta will head to the Super Bowl for the first time in nearly 20 years.

The gesture came just in time. Frank King died four days later on Nov. 6, shortly after Jamie King’s Generals were named national champs. He kept his promise, and had the game ball buried with him.

Shortly after the season ended, King began working on A Game Ball for Frank. His story, which first was meant only as a cathartic exercise, has drawn interest from filmmakers who want to turn it into a movie. King is currently in talks to move his story to the silver screen.

Atlanta has its own firepower with the NFL’s top-scoring offense led by quarterback Matt Ryan and offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan, who is in line to become the 49ers’ next head coach. Freeney said that unit’s prowess has given the defense a psychological edge.

That ticking time bomb led to his biceps tendonitis that sidelined him for a start.

Limited Kids Alex Carter Jersey February: First, it was the decision to put on an extra 17 pounds of muscle this offseason because he wanted to throw harder than he did in 2016. I mean, Fangraphs had him clocked at 97.9 mph on his fastball last year, which is only legal on the Autobahn, probably.

April 27: That ticking time bomb led to his biceps tendonitis that sidelined him for a start. He refused to answer questions and even reportedly berated long-time Mets PR guy Jay Horwitz when reporters approached him after that missed start.

April 29: Then, Syndergaard refused to get an MRI to further diagnose and identify the injury. Because, you know, the New York Mets and player injuries are something that always work out well in everyone’s favor. *Dramatic, overstated eye roll for effect.*

April 30: Syndergaard decided to pitch the following Sunday, April 30, because he said he knew his body. And 38 pitches later in that start vs. the Nationals, Syndergaard was writhing in pain and pulled out of the game.

Woodruff has been overshadowed by other more high-profile prospects in the Milwaukee system, but he looks like the next man up for the Brewers. He has improved his command and learned to locate down in the strike zone. With three above-average pitches he has the stuff to be a solid No. 4 starter in the bigs.
Limited Kids Jordan Norwood Jersey
Atlanta’s Sims and Newcomb are both former top prospects who have begun to rebound after seeing their careers stall in the minors. Sims has ironed out some of the command issues that plagued him earlier in his career and is performing well at Triple-A (3.00 ERA, 47/11 K/BB and .195 BAA in 45 innings). He has three above-average pitches and could be a mid-rotation guy, but inconsistency will probably mean he pitches at the back of the rotation instead.

Adams was able to write his own chapter in USF’s history books.

The NCAA granted Adams a hardship waiver that allowed him to play immediately at USF without needing to sit out for a season like traditional transfers. Adams said that aided him immensely in the healing process.

“Playing football was a time to get away, a time to get your anger out,” he said.

Adams also credits the support of his family, friends and the USF program for helping him pull through. As fate would have it, Adams’ wide receivers coach had weathered his own family tragedy. Ron Dugans, who played three seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals (2000 to 2002) after a standout career at Florida State, lost his 8-year-old daughter in a 2008 school bus accident.

“He was the one that stood with me dealing with my mom,” Adams said. “He could relate to me. We shared a lot of stories.”

Thanks to Dugans’ coaching, as well, Adams was able to write his own chapter in USF’s history books.

“I’m so proud of our guys,” Brady told Fox Sports. “It’s going to be a great celebration tonight.”

New England’s game-tying drive was only kept alive thanks to an incredible catch by Julian Edelman. After Brady’s pass was tipped in the air by Falcons safety Keanu Neal, Edelman beat a trio of Falcons to the ball. He grabbed it just as it hit Alford’s foot and then kept it off the turf for a 23-yard completion to get the ball to the Falcons 41-yard line just before the two-minute warning.

Things got off to a slow start Sunday with a scoreless first quarter, then the Falcons erupted for 21 second-quarter points. A pair of brilliant Julio Jones catches led to touchdowns by Devonta Freeman and Austin Hooper before Alford landed the dagger before halftime. avalanche-018_1bfbb2ffd82b54b6-180x180

NFL Honors: Cowboys’ Jason Garrett selected as Coach of the Year

Dan Quinn and Bill Belichick have their respective teams in the Super Bowl, but neither was named the NFL’s top coach.

That honor went to Cowboys coach Jason Garrett, who was named the NFL’s Coach of the Year during Saturday’s NFL Honors awards show in Houston.

Garrett led the Cowboys to their first 13-win season since 2007 and won the NFC East for the second time in three years. Garrett took over as Cowboys coach during the 2010 season and has compiled a 58-46 record.

Murray, Oakland’s leading rusher in 2015 and ’16, signed a four-year, $2.3 million contract in 2013 that concluded after the 2016 season.
Eric Rowe Kids Jersey
Murray rushed for 1,854 combined yards and 18 touchdowns the last two seasons, adding 496 combined receiving yards to those totals. That includes a 1,000-yard rushing season in 2015, when Murray rushed for 1,066 yards and six touchdowns.

The Raiders are coming off one of their best seasons in years, a 12-4 campaign that ended with a loss to the Texans in the AFC divisional round. They have the 24th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, and are projected to select a cornerback to help strengthen their secondary.

Authentic Womens Wesley Woodyard Jersey The best quarterback at the East-West Shrine Game, Terrell was snubbed from the Combine in favor of Minnesota’s Mitch Leidner and Texas A&M’s Trevor Knight. While those two have better NFL size and arm strength, neither has shown the efficiency or ball placement to warrant draft consideration like Terrell has.

Terrell is likely a career NFL backup but could be a great one at that. And in today’s NFL, where effective backups are set to cost teams upwards of $6 million a year, Terrell and a Day 3 draft pick’s salary should be pretty appealing to NFL teams.
